Dmitrij Kitajenko, Pirmin Grehl & Konzerthausorchester Berlin
About the Event
The Konzerthausorchester Berlin, under the direction of Dmitrij Kitajenko, will be joined by flute soloist Pirmin Grehl. The program consists of pieces by three idiosyncratic composers: Dvorak, Ibert and Sibelius.
Sibelius's grandiose Symphony No. 2 is at the heart of the program. This piece shows a great deal of interconnectedness, part of the composer's philosophy of the symphony. Much of music is organically based on a simple three note motif. Dvorak's "Carneval" overture and Ibert's Flute Concert will also be performed.
