Die Soldaten: Teatro Real

About the Event

The musical director Pablo Heras‐Casado and the stage director Calixto Bieito present 'Die Soldaten' by Bernd Alois Zimmermann, an audacious, essential and radical work, at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

The opera is based on the adaptation of an 18th century text of the same name by German poet Jakob Lenz, and it deliberately rebels against the rule of the three unities – place, action and time — of classical dramatic theater.
