Deutsche Oper Berlin at the Philharmonie Berlin: Langaard & Wagner

About the Event

Donald Runnicles, Music Director of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, brings his ensembles across town to the Philharmonie Berlin for a special concert performance, with soloists Peter Seiffert, Anja Harteros, and Georg Zeppenfeld.

The concert opens with Danish composer Rued Langgaard's "Sfærernes Musik". Completed in 1918 and innovative for its time, Langgaard's late‐Romantic "Music of the Spheres" is written for a soprano soloist, orchestra, choir, organ, and "distant" orchestra.

The program continues with the first scene of Wagner's "Die Walküre", the second of his four Ring Cycle operas.
