Composer Festival: Thea Musgrave at Konserthuset Stockholm

About the Event

Celebrate the oeuvre of Scottish composer Thea Musgrave with the Konserthuset in their annual Composer Festival.

In the opening concert, with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Karen Kamensek is joined by acclaimed oboist Nicholas Daniel for the world premiere of ‘Night Windows’ for oboe and strings.

The second concert of the series features works for orchestra by Thea Musgrave and Richard Rodney Bennett. Acclaimed violinist Ellen Nisbet and soprano Hannah Holgersson join Dalia Stasevska and the Norrköpings Symfoniorkester.

Next, a musical postcard from Scotland in the third concert. Alongside the ‘Turbulent Landscapes’ of the Highlands, and the banks of Loch Ness, Nicholas Daniel plays the Helios concerto for oboe in the elegant Main Hall.

Finally, Nicholas Daniel joins musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic in the Grünewald Hall for an intriguing concert of songs, solo, and chamber pieces for a wide range of instruments.
