Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty: Finnish National Opera Ballet
About the Event
A fairy tale ballet for the whole family — Sleeping Beauty is one of the best‐loved ballets in the world. The composer himself never lived to see how popular it would become in time. Enjoy this unforgettable production of the Finnish National Ballet.
The ballet is based on the classic fairy tale about Princess Aurora. This production is choreographed by Javier Torres, based on Marius Petipa’s classic choreography.
“Princess Aurora is caught in a battle between fear and love,” says Torres. “She has to choose how she wants to live, asleep in fear or awake in love. Aurora is eventually rescued by her surrender to love.”
