Chopin pur — Yuliya Drogalova Solo Pianist at Französischer Dom

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Berlin's breathtaking French Cathedral for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of classical music.

Frédéric Chopin has been celebrated as a master of Romanticism for 200 years. The composer himself loved to sit at the piano for hours and play in front of himself. A pianist with brilliant technique, who not only operated the 88 keys, but 'touched' them. We present this beautiful simplicity of his music with outstanding young pianists in the series 'Chopin pur' at the French Cathedral.
The second concert will be played by Ukrainian pianist Yuliya Drogalova, who made a name for herself as a child at the famous Prokofiev Competition as the first prizewinner and who began her career as a soloist and chamber musician in the great Donetsk Opera House. After graduating from high school, she studied in Stuttgart and attended various master classes before perfecting her multifaceted piano playing at the Hochschule für Musik 'Hanns Eisler' in Berlin. Look forward to a concert evening with the most beautiful compositions of Chopin, played by the pianist Yuliya Drogolova.

Technical brilliance, but she often played too fast. This was most apparent with two pieces that were filled with melancholy and lament. She failed to linger and celebrate the inherent anguish in the music.
