Chamber Music of the Konzerthausorchester: Bach

About the Event

In this concert, the Konzerthaus Kammerorchester presents works by Johann Sebastian Bach.

The program is opened by the 'Musical Offering' of 1747, which is due to the composer's visit to the court of the Prussian king. In the trio sonata of the work, the flute makes its due appearance, for Friedrich II himself played it with great enthusiasm and skill. The flute is also one of three solo instruments in the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. The third of the six Brandenburg Concertos, which vary greatly in style and structure, is composed for a pure string instrumentation and can also be heard in this concerto.
