Chamber Music Matinee with the Berlin Konzerthausorchester: Françaix, Kodály and Schubert

About the Event

Broaden your knowledge of the chamber music of the early Twentieth Century, as musicians from the Konzerthaus Orchestra play works by Jean Françaix and Zoltán Kodály.

Pairing the former's lively, complex String Trio, replete with harmonic and rhythmic games, with Kodály's dancing, unpredictable 'Serenade for Two Violins and Viola', a clear picture is painted of the vital creative energy infusing Europe's artists in the inter‐war period. Schubert's delectable 'Quintet in C Major' provides a gracious antidote, full of Romantic charms.
