Chamber Music Matinee: Tanejev, Weinberg, Shostakovich
About the Event
The Kirichenko Trio and the Polaris Quartet will present a selection of rarely heard Russian works in this matinee concert.
Sergei Taneyev was Tchaikovsky's student and above all a highly esteemed piano virtuoso. Also unjustly ignored for a long time was Mieczysław Weinberg, whose work is now experiencing a renaissance. Weinberg's eighth quartet is followed by Shostakovich's first.

The event was wonderful. The seat selection on the sides of the balcony was awful. No choice to select seats. And had to sit very close to edge making me very dizzy. Poor seating on balcony sides of Koncerthaus Berlin.
