Chamber Music Concert: Finsterbusch‐Trio

About the Event

Explore the repertoire for String Trio with this renowned Berlin ensemble. Playing Schubert and Beethoven, as well as Eisler, Jolivet, and Hans Krása, the Finsterbusch‐Trio explores the string trio's roots, as well as its contemporary form.

Hanns Eisler and André Jolivet are both, perhaps, better known in other genres, but both made valuable contributions to the chamber music repertoire, as this concert underlines. Hans Krása did not have their luxury of time. Among the most prominent of the Theresienstadt composers, Krása's 'Passacaglia and Fugue' and Tanec or 'Dance' for string trio are his last known works, composed in the ghetto in the year of his murder.
