Brunnenhof Open Air: Jazzrausch Bigband

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Munich's breathtaking Brunnenhof Residence for the ultimate concert combining jazz, classical music and techno.

'Jazz is sexy again with the Jazzrausch Bigband' (Bayerischer Rundfunk) — and their intelligent mix of techno sound and big band jazz is enjoyed by sitters in the concert hall as well as dancers on the dance floor. The Jazzrausch Bigband was founded in 2014 in Munich by Roman Sladek and developed under his direction into one of the most successful big bands in the world with over 600 concerts worldwide. Since 2015, the large formation of 25 musicians has been artist in residence at the renowned Munich techno club 'Harry Klein'. Based on this unique cooperation, the Jazzrausch Bigband defines the completely new genre of 'techno jazz' together with its composer Leonhard Kuhn. With their new album 'téchne', the Jazzrausch Bigband once again impressively demonstrates their unique perspective on the artistic interaction of cultural and humanistic themes. The programme title refers to the ancient Greek term 'τέχνη', which in European‐influenced philosophy is still significant today for the understanding of art, science and technology. With their new show, the young musicians reflect their awareness of the fluid transitions between these levels — compositionally and lyrically through the treatment of mathematical, philosophical and literary themes, sonically through the combination of jazz, classical music and techno.
