Brunnenhof Open Air: Children's Concert 'Fun with Music by Erik Satie'

About the Event

Experience classical music like never before in this astonishing performance of masterworks by Satie at Munich's remarkable Brunnenhof Residence.

The witty, whimsical, French composer Erik Satie left behind a wealth of works that will be brought back to life in the next children's concert by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra — in collaboration with singer Salome Kammer and the ballet ensemble of the Gilching Music School.

Erik Satie, the witty French composer left behind a wealth of music that will be brought back to life in the Munich Philharmonic's children's concert. Tinkling glasses, revolver shots, foghorns, sounding puddles, typewriter clatter, he incorporated all of these into his whimsical compositions, at least in a figurative sense.
For the concert by and with Heinrich Klug, noise instruments were specially made for this purpose and will be used on stage. With arrangements of pieces such as 'Chansons de Café-Concert' and the 'Sports et Divertissements' (instrumentation: violin, clarinet, trombone, piano, percussion), Heinrich Klug succeeds in leading the young listeners through the colourful life of Erik Satie.
