Bruckner's Fourth Symphony 'Romantic': Barenboim, Staatskapelle Berlin at Carnegie Hall

About the Event

Indulge in a symphony that ranks among the greatest of the 19th century. The only one of Bruckner's symphonies to have been given a title by the composer, it harks back to a medieval romance, such as those embodied in Richard Wagner's operas.

Daniel Barenboim conducts the Staatskapelle Berlin as they continue Carnegie Hall's first cycle of Bruckner's symphonies. Combining the Fourth with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 26 allows Barenboim to return to the keyboard, where his vast reputation began.
