Two classic pieces, Bruch's famous violin concert and Mahler's 5th Symphony, are performed by renowned violinist Vadim Gluzman along with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, under Andrey Boreyko's direction.

The Mahler symphony is big in terms of its complex orchestration, emotional scope (opening with a funeral march that famously uses the same rhythmic motif as the opening of Beethoven's 5th symphony), and length, lasting over an hour. Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 is among the most popular violin concertos in the repertoire.
