Bejun Mehta Performs George Benjamin's Dream of the Song

Hear countertenor Bejun Mehta perform a work specially composed for his extraordinary voice. With the Orchestre de Paris and the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, Mehta performs George Benjamin's, 'Dream of the Song', under the direction of Daniel Harding.

'Dream of the Song' was premiered in 2015 at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam by Bejun Mehta, one of the most talented countertenors of our time. For this new work, George Benjamin was inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca's texts, as well as Hebrew poems. Brahms's Symphony No. 1 in C minor and the Overture of Wagner's 'Parsifal' are also on the program of this evening.
