Beethoven: Storgards, Hardenberger & Tonkünstler Orchestra
About the Event
John Storgårds and the Tonkunstler Orchestra tell a heroic story in three chapters with works by Beethoven and Dean.
In Beethoven’s only opera, ‘Fidelio’, the trumpet signals an end to injustice. The trumpet takes a similarly heroic role in Brett Dean’s concerto ‘Dramatis Personae’, which was written for no one less than the soloist Håkan Hardenberger himself. However, the true musical hero Beethoven has the last word with his Symphony no. 8.
