Badke Quartet in conversation with Schubert

About the Event

The British Badke Quartet is an energetic foursome that performs both classical and modern repertoire.

Their program begins with Haydn, the "father" of the string quartet. He is followed by a work by contemporary Irish composer Ian Wilson. His lyrical String Quartet No. 1 "Winter's Edge" is based on the life of St. Paul. The program ends with Schubert's String Quartet in A, a work full of loneliness and hope, intense and delicate at the same time, the theme of which was borrowed from an earlier work, the music for the play Rosamunde.
