Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
Baden‐Baden, Germany
Germany's largest opera and concert venue, the Festspielhaus was originally the central railway station of the celebrated spa‐town.
A neo‐rennaissance‐style facade conceals a modern theater and contemporary annex designed by Wilhelm Holzbauer of Vienna, incorporated into the structure at the end of the 1990s. Privately funded and managed, the 2,500‐seat theater receives no state subsidy, making it unique in Germany.
