Rhodri Davies

Soloist

Rhodri Davies is one of the few harpists working in the field of new, experimental and improvised music and is widely acclaimed for developing a new voice for the harp. His regular groups include: Broken Consort, Cranc, Common Objects, Portable, Apartment House, The Sealed Knot and a trio with David Toop and Lee Patterson.

He performs as a soloist of contemporary music and has commissioned new compositions for harp by: Michael Parsons, Carole Finer, James Saunders, Ben Patterson, Michael Maierhof, Mieko Shiomi, Tim Parkinson, Yasunao Tone and John Lely.

He has performed and recorded with diverse artists such as: Derek Bailey, The Cinematic Orchestra, Luc Ferrari, Philip Corner, Roots Manuva, Evan Parker, Christian Marclay, Sachiko M, Otomo Yoshihide and John Zorn.
