Miriam Andersén

Miriam Andersén, Swedish singer and harper, accomplished her musical studies within the medieval programme at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. She has since aimed at developping her personal style of performing & accompanying herself on the harp being her distinguishing‐mark & drawn to minimalistic storytelling on one hand and vocal equilibrism on the other. An expert on Swedish traditional music and its medieval roots, her repertoire encompasses a wide spectrum of genres from Gregorian chant to Scandinavian ballads. In her work she often edits, arranges and reconstructs both music and texts, collaborating with scholars of language and literature. She
performs throughout Europe, in North America and in Australia and has recorded numerous CDs with ensembles for medieval music such as Sarband, Ferrara Ensemble, Ensemble Gilles Binchois, Josquin Capella, Alba and Belladonna. Miriam Andersén has also appeared in several theatre productions in Sweden, Germany (Maxim Gorki Theater), Switzerland (Theater Basel) and Austria.
