Eva Virsik

Soloist

Eva Virsik appeared on numerous international concert stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, as orchestra soloist and recitalist in USA and Europe. On the list of her appearances is a whole row of music centers such as Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Mainz, Hamburg, Augsburg, Stuttgart, Göttingen, Zwickau, Leipzig, Dijon, Lille, Boulogne, Moscow, Murmansk, Prague, Athens, New York, Washingtin D.C., Boston, Hartford, Portland, and many cities in other countries including performances in her native Slovakia with all their major orchestras. She performed on festivals and radio stations in Europe and USA, recorded for example for the archives of the SWR station in Germany, French, Czech, and Slovak radio and Television networks, in the USA her performances were broadcasted on PBS in Maine, as well as Maine and Connecticut Public Radio. She also performed a live recital on Boston radio in "Morning pro Musica". Her latest CD album ('Piano Encores, 2010), received a rave review in the classical magazine 'Fanfare' (2011). Eva Virsik is a winner of seven competitions and besides her activities as soloist, she devotes herself also to pedagogy. She has been faculty at several universities (Bowdoin College, Portland Conservatory in Maine, Music Universities in Frankfurt, Freiburg, and Bratislava). She also performed a recital at Yale University. Recently, she was given a special recognition from the Slovak‐American Cultural Center in New York for her cultural contribution in representing her former homeland.
