Within a short time of its founding more than 20 years ago, the Philharmonia Quartet secured its reputation as a standard‐setting chamber ensemble, esteemed throughout the world. Made up exclusively of members of the Berliner Philharmoniker the ensemble boasts a varied and innovative repertoire now encompassing more than 100 works. The Quartet thrives on an inexhaustible artistic exploration of the classics – including those of the 20th century – as well as on its commitment to less frequently heard string quartets, by composers such as Hindemith, Reger, Schulhoff and Szymanowski.
