Anna Fedorova plays Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini

About the Event

Welcome the turn of the seasons with Schumann's 'Spring' Symphony on a Sunday morning, paired with the familiar strains of Rachmaninov's 'Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini'. Lead by renowned conductor Gerard Oskamp, the South Westphalia Philharmonic are joined by celebrated Ukrainian pianist Anna Fedorova.

The Ukrainian has gone from strength to strength since her Concertgebouw debut at only 16. Now among the leading pianists of her generation, Fedorova plays Rachmaninov's popular variations with the unexpected combination of quiet charm and passionate expression that has made her an audience favorite. Schumann's First Symphony is similarly full of unexpected shifts, like the springtime it depicts, from the first sign of green to a world in full, exuberant blossom.
