About the Event
In 1999, András Schiff began the complete Mozart piano Concertos cycle in Salzburg with a new orchestra named after an imaginary composer, Andrea Barca, which is actually his Italian name. Through a linguistic joke, the ensemble became known as the go‐to interpreters for Viennese classical repertoire. The concert program showcases this expertise, combining one of Haydn's renowned London Symphonies with two Mozart piano concertos from 1786.
