Andrew Michael Simon currently serves as Principal Clarinetist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic. His career took off after his recital in Carnegie Hall. He has cooperated more than 60 concerts with Hong Kong Philharmonic as soloist, and he has recorded two albums for Naxos. Moreover, he frequently holds lectures in Yale University, Royal Conservatory of Music, and China Central Conservatory of Music. German composer Franz Danzi wrote many works for woodwind, among which Woodwind Quintet No.2 in G minor, Op.56 is his masterpiece. Beethoven liked Mozart’s woodwind works very much young Beethoven had a good understanding of different combination forms of various wind instruments when he settled down in Vienna in 1792. Sextet in E‐Flat Major, Op.71 was composed in 1796 and the majority of melodies are played by clarinet and bassoon in its first movement and finale.
