Andreas Scholl Sings Dowland: Third Shanghai Baroque Festival

About the Event

Do not miss the chance to hear the crystal clear voice of Andreas Scholl, one of today's leading countertenors, in an intimate recital of Baroque songs with lutenist Edin Karamazov, at the Chamber Hall of the Shanghai Symphony Hall.

Scholl and Karamazov collaborated in 2001 for the highly successful recording of folk songs, Wayfaring Stranger. For this evening in Shanghai, they offer a program largely dedicated to John Dowland's most touching songs, along with anonymous works arranged by Leo Brouwer and some of Brouwer's original compositions, and Händel's Cantata “Nel dolce tempo”. The program will be punctuated by lute improvisations by Edin Karamazov.
