About the Event

In our series with singers, mezzo‐soprano Anke Vondung, tenor Werner Güra and pianist Christoph Berner this time open Hugo Wolf's 'Italian Songbook'.

Created in the last decade of the 19th century, it is the most famous cycle of the great song composer. The 46 love poems translated by Nobel Prize winner Paul Heyse are set to music by Wolf for a male and a female voice singing alternately of love's joy and sorrow.
