About the Event

The Paris Opera presents Robert Carsen's sensitive production of Händel's Alcina, a humane and moving portrait of suffering womanhood.

Handel's stroke of genius was to look beyond the supernatural and depict the sorceress, Alcina, as a woman who suffers. The voice of the vanquished enchantress is profoundly human and touching, inspiring in the listener a strange compassion.

Performed in Italian

the presentation of a health pass is required to have access to the Palais Garnier and Opera Bastille.

The Health Pass is in the form of a QR Code, to be imported into your Tousanticovid‐carnet application ('scan the QR Code' function), or printed from the Ameli.fr website. Access to performances will be authorised if the pass certifies:

*either complete vaccination*
*or a negative PCR or Antigen test less than 48 hours old,
*or a positive RT‐PCR or antigenic test result confirming recovery from Covid, at least 15 days old and less than six months old.

- Spectators will be refused entry to the theater if they do not respect the conditions required by the health pass.
- Spectators must bring this health proof as well as a picture ID.
- We invite spectators to make arrangements to arrive in advance (1 hour before the beginning of the performance), as the verification of the passes may increase the access time to the rooms.
