A Midsummer Night's Dream: Paris Opera Ballet

About the Event

Enter Shakespeare's poetic world of elves and fairies, as envisioned by choreographer George Balanchine. The Paris Opera Ballet performs this magical piece, danced to the stage music by Mendelssohn, with sets and costumes by fashion legend Christian Lacroix.

Created in 1962 for the New York City Ballet, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is one of Balanchine's rare forays into the art of narrative ballet. The Bard's complex love story is interpreted through two acts in six scenes.
