Dianne Reeves

According to critics, Dianne Reeves fits effortlessly in a row with Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. With no less than five Grammy's to her name, the jazz diva is embarking on a brand new project. She will perform with the brand‐new National Youth Jazz Orchestra of the USA (NYO Jazz). Practice will take place in Carnegie Hall, followed by Reeves and NYO Jazz. Reeves sings jazz classics from the last century and this century, in a swirling big band programme.

National Youth Jazz Orchestra of the USA

Sean Jones, a trumpeter and experienced bandleader, will be in front of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of the USA. Jazz is the soundtrack of America', he says. A melting pot of genres and international influences. Today Duke Ellington's Mood Indigo and Count Basie's Shiny Stockings sound alongside their contemporary counterparts. Afro‐Cuban rhythms are from Chico O'Farrill, blues by Gerald Wilson and others. The title of Thad Jones' Kids are Pretty People Too seems to have been made for these young super talents! NYO Jazz also plays a special composition by Miguel Zenón, as well as big band versions of hip‐hop, R&B and soul classics.
