'The royal Orchestra under the direction of concert master Pisendel performed with such delicacy of feeling through the introduction of different styles... that I have never heard any better on any of my travels.'
With these words Johann Joachim Quantz describes the former court orchestra whose unique constellation is revived by the Dresden Festival Orchestra. It unites specialists for historical performance practice from the best ensemble of early music in Europe. A good basis for the different styles Quantz once praised. The musicians, all virtuosi and specialists on their instruments, unite different styles and performance practices in this new ensemble, they bring to Dresden from orchestras such as the Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, Concentus Musicus Vienna, the Orchestras of the 18th century, the Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble, Il Giardino armonico and Le Cercle de Harmonie.
