Enjoy the contemporary opera Written on Skin by British composer George Benjamin.
This pivotal 21st century work will be conducted under the baton of the composer. The story is based on an occitan legend from the XII century. A powerful Protector commissions a young artist to create an illuminated book to celebrate his power. The book sparks the rebellion of the Protector’s submissive wife Agnès, setting the scene for an extraordinary act of revenge. The Mahler Chamber Orchestra will be joined by a stunning cast of singers at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
