From Naples to Venice, via Rome, the transalpine music schools each had their own obvious specificities. However, the points of convergence largely outweighed the differences: immoderate love of the beautiful melody, harmonic efficiency and a virtuosity both vocal and instrumental. Contralto Anthea Pichanick puts her unique stamp at the service of superb sacred scores, famous (Vivaldi's moving Stabat Mater) or less known (Scarlatti and Porpora, not to mention Hasse). Under the baton of a first‐rate violinist and conductor Thibault Noally, Les Accents will weave a music setting that is both solar and twilight in turn.
