For many, Ute Lemper is Germany's best chansonnier. At the Festspielhaus, the artist performs music by Astor Piazzolla. Both, Lemper and Piazzolla, had to go abroad to arrive artistically. Both invented themselves in Paris. Here Piazzolla found his way back to his tango roots and Ute Lemper became 'La Lemper', the great international star who now lives in New York, the city where Piazzolla was born. Finding one's own in the foreign, enduring this tension and using it artistically: Ute Lemper can sing a song about it and Piazzolla composed exactly this kind of songs. It will be a great evening.
