Celebrate the extraordinary legacy of one of the greatest choreographers of the Twentieth Century. The Ballet of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma presents an evening of works created by the legendary American.
Perhaps best known to the general public for his spellbinding creations for Broadway shows and movie musicals including West Side Story, balletomanes know another side to Robbins' work. Lyrical, yet unfailingly dramatic, Robbins' style embraces modernity while preserving the traditional legacy of classical dance. The ability to fuse music and dance to devastating effect that served him so well as a creator of Broadway classics translates effortlessly into the works he created for New York City Ballet and its stars.
Presenting two of Robbins' works set to music by Chopin and his landmark 'Glass Pieces' the dancers of the Opera di Roma are joined by internationally acclaimed dance stars Eleonora Abbagnato, Rebecca Bianchi, Zachary Catazaro, Susanna Salvi, and Claudio Cocino to present an evening no lover of dance will want to miss.
