Schnittke & Tchaikovsky: Orchestral Music Series
O akci
For a performance of highly demanding Violin Concerto by Schnittke the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra teams up with violinist Ingrida Armonaitė under the baton of Modestas Pitrenas.
Armonaite's concerts always stir deep contemplation. “She impersonates a dependable and tempered performer not only due to her stable technique, but also refined interpretational flair, individual artistic taste, professional knowledge that enable Armonaitė to daringly and continuously form her stage presence.” (V. Markeliūnienė, 7 meno dienos, 2000).
The concert programme also features Tchaikovsky’s last symphony Pathetique – a genuine and outspoken musical diary by Russian composer. According to Tchaikovsky, he composed the Sixth Symphony after his recovery from a prolonged depression, where he had suffered a deep gloom… The orchestra performs this painful musical drama under the baton of Modestas Pitrėnas. Recently, Maestro has been presenting original and mature interpretations not only with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, but also Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.
