Embark on a journey of discovery with aptly‐paired works by Brahms and Strauss. Josep Pons conducts the Orchestra of the Liceu with their guest soloist, the celebrated French pianist François‐Frédéric Guy.
Guy plays Brahms' demanding Second Piano Concerto — the product of a personal odyssey a lifetime's experience and experimentation. Friedrich Nietzsche's own personal voyage of discovery inspired Richard Strauss' 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', itself the inspiration behind the opening of a journey of another kind — Stanley Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey'.
