Franz Schreker's 'Prelude to a Drama', Scriabin's Poème de l'extase, and Busoni's Berceuse élegiaque paint a picture of a new century in conflict, torn between self‐actualisation and the cold demands of a militarised and unjust wold. Acclaimed pianist Herbert Schuch continues this theme as he joins Stenz on the platform for Richard Strauss' demanding Burleske for piano and orchestra.
