Hear Shostakovich played by someone with an intimate connection to the composer.

Dmitri's son, Maxim, has been a long‐time collaborator with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, and cellist Jiří Bárta was an important part of their work together. Today, Bárta draws on his experience working with the son of Shostakovich in his performances of the 1st Cello Concerto.

Graeme Jenkins also conducts Haydn's Nelson Mass, and Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a theme of Thomas Tallis.
