Spitalfields Festival: The Sixteen
Harry Christophers conducts the renowned vocal ensemble, The Sixteen, in a performance of early and contemporary sacred music at the Spitalfields Summer Festival in London.
‘Psalm 51, Miserere mei, has been set to music many times over the centuries but few composers have tackled the complete text. Allegri was one such composer, whose reputation rests on that single work. Only a few months ago, James MacMillan wrote his 21st-century take on the text and I am delighted to be able to present the UK premiere of it, surrounded by settings of the Miserere with music for the Sistine Chapel, by Palestrina and Anerio.’ Harry Christophers
Don't miss the opportunity to hear one of the best vocal ensembles performing at London's Christ Church.
