バージミュージック

ブルックリン橋のたもとに浮かぶユニークで美しいコンサート会場、バージミュージック。1977年のオープン以来、室内楽などのコンサートなどが開かれています。ステージは小さいながらもバックにイースト・リバーやマンハッタンの摩天楼を眺めることができ、ニューヨークの音楽ファンから人気のあるスポット。

バージミュージックの使命　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　地元の観客が一年を通して楽しめるような室内楽などのコンサートを開催することでニューヨークのカルチャー・ライフを充実させることをコンセプトにしてきたバージミュージック。できるだけ多くの人に音楽を楽しんでもらえるように1年に220の室内楽のコンサートを開催しています。

バージミュージック・ストーリー
ヴァイオリニストでビオラ奏者であるオルガ・ブルーム(Olga Bloom )が57歳の時に演奏家として引退、1976年にバージミュージックを設立することを決意します。「河に浮かぶコンサート・ホール」 の設立のため、1899年に製造されニューヨーク港で使用されていた100フィートの鉄鋼のはしけを選びました。当初、薄暗い緑色だったはしけは現在は白い色に塗り替えられています。当時コーヒー豆の運送に使われていたこのはしけ、イースト・リバーに面した部分に「EL375」という当時のプレートがその名残を今に伝えます。

Getting Here By Subway
Weekend delays are possible because of track maintainance (no weekend #4 & #5 trains). For information see the MTA website.

Take the A train to High Street station in Brooklyn. (From Manhattan, ride in the rear of the train; from Brooklyn, ride in the front of the train.) Use the Fulton Street Exit. Walk downhill on Cadman Plaza West to the East River, 3 blocks.

Or ride the F train to York Street; go right on Jay to Front Street. On Front Street turn left, and turn right on Old Fulton Street; walk downhill to the river.

Or take the 2 or 3 train to Clark Street station; walk west on Clark Street to Columbia Heights; turn right; walk downhill to the end of the street. Bargemusic is on the left in the river.


By Car
From Manhattan, use the Brooklyn Bridge and take the first exit in Brooklyn (marked BQE). Drive in the right lane on the ramp and turn right. Then a left on Old Fulton Street to the East River. Bargemusic is left of the Bridge.

From Long Island, take the Long Island Expressway westbound to the BQE (toward Brooklyn & Staten Is.). Use the Cadman Plaza/Brooklyn Bridge exit, turn right onto Old Fulton Street and continue to the East River. Bargemusic is to the left of the Bridge.

From Brooklyn, take Atlantic Avenue. Turn on Clinton Street and go to the end. Turn left on Cadman Plaza West and along the park. Turn left on Old Fulton Street and continue to the East River. Bargemusic is to the left of the Bridge.


By Bus
From Brooklyn, take the B-25 to Furman Street (last stop). You can transfer to the B-25 from B-41 and many other buses at Borough Hall. You can also transfer to the B-25 (at the Jay Street station from the A or F trains ) at the Fulton and Jay Street corner.
