Music Festival Grafenegg: Concertgebouw, Bezuidenhout, Koopman
A royal visit from the Netherlands is paid by the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, which is rightfully considered one of the best ensembles in the world.
Under the direction of historically informed performance specialist Ton Koopman, The orchestra opens the evening with a suite by J. S. Bach, followed by Mozart’s Piano Concerto, K 482, with soloist Kristian Bezuidenhout. The pianist is known for his "pure, whole-blooded sound" and his historically accurate interpretations.
The symphonic highpoint, Joseph Haydn’s Sixth "London" Symphony, perfectly rounds off the programme, which ranges from the Baroque to the Classical period.
