Grafenegg Castle, the surrounding grounds and the majestic Wolkenturm are glowing in the most splendid colours in the sunset. The Tonkünstler’s Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada raises the baton, the orchestra plays the first notes of the Midsummer Night’s Gala – the lavish musical celebration that opens the series of concerts in Grafenegg is about to begin.
As in the years before, international star soloists perform together with the Tonkünstler. Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter presents a selection of works from her extensive repertoire. Furthermore, Alison Balsom, the star trumpet player showered with awards, takes part in this festive concert. The host himself also makes an appearance. Together with the audience, Rudolf Buchbinder, the musical motor behind Grafenegg, welcomes the summer series of concerts.
Due to the live broadcast on ORF, the concert is to be organized open-air. We recommend weather-proof clothing. In case a venue change is necessary due to bad weather, your alternative seat number will be printed on your ticket.
