Vladimir Ashkenazy & Yin Chengzong: A Reunion

About the Event

As one of the most outstanding pianists of the 20th century, Vladimir Ashkenazy has also proven himself as an excellent conductor. After his successful cooperation with the SSO in 2011, he will give an all‐Russian concert with the orchestra this year, including Shostakovich’s Symphony No.8, one of the three symphonies that he composed during the war. Ashkenazy will be joined by the renowned Chinese pianist Yin Chengzong for Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2.

As Asia’s oldest orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra brought Western classical music to China.
