About the Event

Choreographer John Neumeier's new work for the Paris Opera Ballet continues his exploration of Gustav Mahler work. Neumeier translates the emotions and mysteries of Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde into dance.

Drawing on his own poetic imagination, John Neumeier evokes the fatality and nobility of the human condition, ideas which resonate throughout Mahler’s setting of ancient Chinese poems.
