Tan Dun conducts Tan Dun & Debussy: Concertgebouw

About the Event

The charismatic composer and conductor Tan Dun conducts two of his own works with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Petra van der Heide (harp) and Dominic Seldis (bass), both members of the orchestra, take the spotlight. Nu Shu: The Secret Songs of Women is a response to a cultural language in China that for years ignored women's voices. After the interval, Dominic Seldis take the solo part in the Concerto for Double Bass, commissioned by Seldis and the RCO.

This concert also features Debussy's Rapsodie, with Olivier Patey playing solo clarinet.
