Schubert & Mahler: Zubin Mehta & Shanghai Symphony Orchestra
About the Event
In his second concert with the SSO, legendary Zubin Mehta will conduct one of his favorite works – Mahler’s Symphony No.1. Franz Schubert's beloved "Unfinished" Symphony will also be featured on the program in Shanghai.
Although the irony in the third movement is typical Mahlerian, this symphony is his most Beethovenian composition. Like Beethoven’s symphonies, this work ends in a brilliant triumph of will in the coda of the Finale.
