Rachmaninoff & Wagner: Czech National Symphony Orchestra

About the Event

Under the baton of Heiko Mathias Förster the Czech National Symphony Orchestra will present a selection of Wagner’s opera tetralogy about the magic Ring of the Nibelung.

In addition to the symphonic adaptation of the famous opera saga, the orchestra will perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. The work boasts all of the composer’s typical qualities: dazzling instrumentation, vast wonderfully graded expanses, an impressive solo part and evocative melodies. On this occasion the piece will be performed by the young Canadian virtuoso, Stewart Goodyear.
