Philippe Jaroussky: Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona

About the Event

'Opium', the title of a poem by Armand Renaud, is also that of this recital dedicated to French songs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Songs in this style were written by composers such as Reynaldo Hahn, Ernest Chausson, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré and Jules Massenet. To the Liceu audience, who are used to applauding countertenor Philippe Jaroussky as a virtuoso of the Baroque repertoire, this program of songs based on poems will come as a pleasant surprise.
