Long Yu & Thibaudet: Barber & Prokofiev in Paris
About the Event
Hover above the musical twentieth century with this many‐faceted, poetic overview of some of its greatest composers.
Conductor Long Yu directs the Orchestre de Paris in a program including Barber's beloved Adagio for Strings, the pure sounds of Qigang Chen's "Er Huang" Concerto, and a rollicking set of Gershwin variations -- both of the latter featuring the passionate and elegant Jean‐Yves Thibaudet. The concert will close with Prokofiev's alternately wild and introspective jewel of orchestration, Romeo and Juliet.
